Capabilities
Kramer & Frank, P.C. has been processing accounts through their sophisticated computer system since 1981. The computer system allows for the filelessly working accounts. All documents received or created are permanently stored electronically. The firm's computer system is capable of accepting the placement of files via modem, tape or the Internet for your convenience. There are over 150 employees at Kramer & Frank, P.C. The firm is constantly upgrading the system to help serve clients in a more timely and efficient manner.
Kramer & Frank, P.C. and NAN are fully automated for maximum results, efficiency and quality. Through proprietary, interactive software, a client can view each account from their office, no matter which network member attorney is handling the file. This streamlined process reduces the expense of on-site auditing and makes each attorney 100% accountable to you, 24 hours a day. Each account is updated daily by network attorneys via electronic data interchange (EDI). Information such as filing dates, future court dates, case numbers, bankruptcy updates, judgment dates, and garnishment information is updated daily. It's all there for your review at any time. If a client calls regarding status of a file, a client service representative can immediately pull up the file on the computer screen and give the client an accurate description of the activity of that file instantaneously.
The computer system allows the operator to customize reports to satisfy client's needs. Current reports include the acknowledgment, the status, active and purge reports, and the collection performance report. The collection performance report tells exactly what percentage Kramer & Frank, P.C. is collecting and breaks it down into placement months and years. The report also explains the percentage of active accounts, its status, the percentage of inactive files, and the reasons for closing those files.
Since inception of the computer system all data has been maintained live on RAID arrays. This feature has proven invaluable to large clients who have been sued in class action cases. K&F's ability to retrieve and create custom reports of relevant material has assisted clients in defending class action cases in ways the clients never realized possible and at costs that were a fraction of manual research of files.
Remittances are processed through the computer to produce accurate and prompt results. Monies collected from the debtor on the 1st through the 15th of the month are remitted to the client on the last day of the month. Funds received on the 16th through the end of the month are remitted on the 15th day of the following month. This schedule has been adopted to minimize the time it takes to get a remittance check to you while still accounting for the numerous insufficient funds checks received each month. While the firm automatically maintains this regular remittance schedule, a customized remittance can be created to suit your specialized needs.

The system generates statistical reports, statements, and status reports. Individualized letters and automatic dunning notices are prepared on the system. Composing a letter to a client, an insurance carrier, an attorney, and any other third party is done in a few keystrokes. Notes of telephone conversations, collector notes, docket notes, all letters, mail return and other pertinent file information is automatically maintained by the system. The computer screen always reflects a complete reference to the activity and history of each file. For data security purposes - data once entered cannot be altered.
